Marcia J. May, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away May 26, 2016 at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Born August 11, 1940 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Monford Rex and Melba Rose (Allen) Metz. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1958. She then attended nursing college in Winfield.

Marcia was united in marriage to Marion May on December 9, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Winfield. Marcia worked at Binney & Smith in the silk printing department. She retired after over 30 years. Marion preceded her in death on April 14, 2013.

Marcia was a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield where she served on different boards and in many capacities. She enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family.

Her sister-in-law: Joan Miller and husband, Cushman of Derby;
Her nieces and nephews: Lisa Kreie and significant other, Lori Nadeau of Colorado Springs, CO; Dana Cahoon and husband, Jerry of Newkirk, OK; Jonita Smith and husband, Kerry of Winfield; Michelle Parsons, Jennifer Hecht, Chadd May, Joshua Miller, Kevin Miller and Andy Miller; and
Many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Marcia's name for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
