Mabel A. Cox's Obituary
Mabel A. Cox, 83, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, May 30, 2011 at her home in Arkansas City.
Born on September 18, 1927 in Shidler, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Burl and Lytha Cox. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas City graduating from Arkansas City High School.
Mabel spent most of her adult life working as a caregiver in the Home Health Industry. She enjoyed yard work, collecting flowers and dolls, and especially enjoyed animals.
Her family includes:
Her sons: David Bellew and wife, Dianna of Arkansas City; Steve Bellew and wife, Bonnie of Winfield; and
Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Gerlets.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Douglass Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, on Wednesday June 1, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Mabel's name for Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
