Lula Mae McMinn, 92, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Winfield Senior Living.

Lula was born August 4, 1931, near Braman, Oklahoma in rural Kay County, to Wiley and Jamima (Evans) Bourne.  The family moved to Burden in 1936.  She attended Burden High School, graduating in 1950.  As a young lady, she worked for a time as a telephone operator.

Lula was united in marriage to Marvin McMinn on June 11, 1949.  Lula was a loving and devoted mother, homemaker, and help-mate to Marvin on the farm.  She is a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Burden.

She is survived by her husband Marvin of the home; two sons, Donald McMinn; and Bradley McMinn and wife, Sheila; one daughter Marva McMinn Blair and husband, Harvey; a brother-in-law Chester Powell; her grandchildren and their spouses, Mardi McMinn, Dori Lendvay and husband, Mike, Tiffani Wooten and husband, Ronny, Zachery Blair and wife, Tara, Michelle Wunderlich and husband, Jered, Shad McMinn, Travis McMinn and wife, Lindsey, Cassie Cobas and husband, Pete; 19 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Lula was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter-in-law Jeanine McMinn, a granddaughter-in-law Becky McMinn, two brothers, Voyd Bourne and Wayne Bourne, and five sisters, Audrey Graham, Betty Ryan, Wanda Olmstead Santora, Alice Powell, and Pat Gregory.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Burden under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at the Burden Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Lula's name for the First Baptist Church of Burden.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
