Lucy Eleanor Redman, 81, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2015.

Born October 11, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of John Dudley and Helen Loretta (Dunaway) Walker. She was raised and received her education in Wichita, graduating from North High School in 1952. After school, she began working for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator.

Eleanor married Don Haugsten in 1959 in Wichita. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1975, she married Robert Redman in Wichita. The couple made their home in Wichita until 1987 when they moved to Oklahoma City. Eleanor remained with Southwestern Bell working in several capacities until retiring in the accounting department in 1996. Mr. Redman preceded her in death in 1999, and she moved to Winfield, Kansas, to be near family.

She was united in marriage to Larry Atkinson at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield in March of 2011. The couple made their home in Winfield. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Quilter's Guild, the Red Hot Mamas Red Hat Club, and Southwestern Bell Coffee Club. She enjoyed cards and activities at the senior center. She also enjoyed quilting and working on her Iris in her garden.

Her son: Mark Haugsten of Las Vegas, NV;
Her grandchildren: Joni and spouse, Anderson; Kaely and husband, Delonte; David, Hannah, Jon, Tessa, Laura, and Sam;
Her 13 stepchildren, 28 step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bob, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, John Walker and her sister, Margaret Duffy, her stepson, Larry Joe, and her stepdaughter, Connie.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Winfield. Interment will be held at 1:30 P.M. that afternoon at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Eleanor's name for the First United Methodist Church Youth. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
