LUCAS SAENZ, 51, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2011 at his home.
Born November 20, 1959 in Knox City, Texas, he was the son of Gustavo and Anita Saenz. He was raised and received his education in Sunray, Texas. Lucas worked as a crane operator for many years.
He was united in marriage to Kimberly Ann Bonner on March 5, 1982 in Pawnee Rock, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Great Bend. They later lived in Wichita and El Dorado before making their home in Winfield.
Lucas was a member of Millington Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

His daughters: Megan Saenz and fiance, Jason Finey of Winfield; Amber Horton and husband, Tommy of Winfield; and Jessica Saenz;
His mother: Anita Saenz of Texas;
His brothers: Gustavo Saenz and wife, Lynn of South Carolina; and Steve Saenz of Texas;
His sisters: Alice Saenz, Grace Rios, Silvia Garza and husband, Johnny, and Mary Rodriguez and husband, Fernando all of Texas; and
His grandsons: Chaz Saenz, Sean Finey, Chason Finey, Isaiah Saenz, and Noah Horton.
Lucas was preceded in death by his father, Gustavo Saenz, his step-father, Savino Vasquez, and his brothers, Amador, Pete and Joe.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Millington Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Star Valley Cemetery near Rock. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 P.M.
A Memorial has been established in Lucas' name for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
