LOWELL "MARVIN" BRANNAN, 90, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Marvin was born July 20, 1922 to Archie and Jessie (Rising) Brannan. He was raised in New Salem, Kansas and is a graduate of Winfield High School. Following high school, Marvin joined the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1945. He returned to Winfield and began employment at Western Auto. He later worked for Wonder Bread for 17 years, and was employed by Everett Lumber Company for 23 years. Following retirement, Marvin volunteered 2500 hours of service to the William Newton Memorial Hospital Snack Bar.
He married Mary Alice Powers on July 20, 1942. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1977. He later married Betty Jean Boyle on September 13, 1980.

His sons: Steve Brannan of Texas; Greg Brannan and wife, Janet of Derby;
His daughter: Marcia Weston and husband, Bob of Arkansas City;
His step-sons: Buddy Boyle of Arkansas; John Boyle and wife, Vickie of Winfield; and Ron Boyle and wife, Julie of Wichita;
His step-daughters: Kathy Martin and husband, Allen of Winfield; and Susan Black and husband, John of Pleasanton, Kansas;
His 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Mary Alice.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City. The family will greet friends on Sunday, June 16 at Miles Funeral Service from 3 to 5 P.M.
A Memorial has been established in Marvin's name for the First Church of the Nazarene. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
