Obituary

Louise (Hamrick) Strother, age 88, of Winfield, Kansas, went to her Heavenly Reward on May 23, 2015 after a noble battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born January 15, 1927 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Forrest and Gladys (Dixon) Hamrick. When she was young the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her early education and worked as a data entry clerk until she met and married the love of her life, Jack T. Strother in 1946. They raised their family while Jack served 23 years in the United States Navy. Mr. Strother preceded her in death on January 21, 1994.

Louise was an active member of the Navy Wives Club of Los Alamitos, California. She and Jack were avid square dancers for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by:
Her daughter: Jackye Feldman and husband, Richard of Winfield;
Her son: Rick Strother and wife, Sandy of Marshfield, Missouri;
Her sister: Shirley Smith of Atlanta, Georgia;
Her grandchildren: Duane Feldman and wife, Sandy; Todd Feldman; Debbie Johnson; Kathy Berglind and husband, Bruce; Shawn Strother; Jenny King and husband, Jason; Megan Strother; and
Her 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou Carroll, her brothers, Cecil, Douglas and Kenneth Hamrick, her daughter, Susan Marie Strother, her grandson, Timothy Feldman, and her granddaughter, Susan Quint.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Central Baptist Church in Winfield, Kansas. Interment will be held at Westminster Memorial Park Cemetery in Westminster, California on Monday June 1, 2015. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas on Wednesday afternoon May 27, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established in Louise's name for the Billy Graham Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
