Obituary

Louis Wayne Hoover, 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021, at his home.

Born July 13, 1957, in Winfield, he was the son of Maurice W. and Diana (Beswick) Hoover. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1975. While in school he was a member of FFA, 4-H, and really enjoyed his woodworking and agriculture classes. Following high school, he attended Cowley County Community College where he received a Welding Certification.

Louis married Patti Walker in Oklahoma City. The couple made their home in a farmhouse east of Winfield. To this union a son, Garrett, was born. The couple later divorced.

Louis spent much of his life working with his father on the family farm. He later worked at the Valley COOP at Hackney, and then for Ralph Russell Construction. Louis finished his career working for and later retiring from the Kansas Department of Transportation. In addition to woodworking, Louis enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

His family includes his son Garrett Hoover and fiancé, Morgan McCall of Arkansas City; his grandson Parker Lee Hoover of Arkansas City; his sister Julie Seitz of Oxford; and his brother Larry Hoover of Winfield.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Louis' name for Heart Menders at William Newton Hospital. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
