Lola E. Hendrickson, 94, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born July 26, 1922 in Fruita, Colorado, she was the daughter of Clifford Virgil "C.V." and Daisy Belle (McCain) Frueh. The family moved to Grenola, where Lola was raised and received her education, graduating from Grenola High School.

She was united in marriage to John D. "Strawberry" Hendrickson on June 11, 1942 in Winfield. The couple made their lifelong home in Winfield. She worked at Seamore's for a short time before making a career as a homemaker. Strawberry preceded her in death on October 30, 1988.

Lola was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. She was a talented artist and enjoyed tinting black and white photos. She also loved animals.

Her son: Dale E. Hendrickson and wife, Rose Ann of Winfield;
Her daughters: Deann Lear and husband, Roger of Winfield; Helen "Teany" Samms and long time companion, Charlie Barshear of Winfield;
Her grandchildren: Stephen Hendrickson and wife, Deb; Angie Perkins and husband, Randy; Gretchen Lear; Audra Hittle and husband, Kane; and
Her great grandchildren: Olivia and Evan Hendrickson and Lydia and Caroline Hittle.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lola was preceded in death by a grandson, Marlon Lear and sisters, Helen Ellard and Freda Harper.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4. The family will greet visitors during that time.

A memorial has been established in Lola's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
