LOLA E. CLODFELTER, 94, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Winfield, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
Born on November 10, 1913 in Nebraska, she was the daughter of Harry and Mary (Peterson) Markley. She was raised and received her education in Nebraska and later Winfield where she graduated from Winfield High School in 1931.
She was united in marriage to Medford C. Clodfelter on May 23, 1933 in Winfield, Kansas. The couple owned and operated several ceramic shops. After the couple retired, Lola operated a china painting shop in her home where she taught several classes. She also won many awards for her painting. After suffering a fall in 2006, Lola moved to Topeka to be with her daughter. Mr. Clodfelter preceded her in death in 1985.
Lola was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. Her hobbies included her family, china painting and playing dominoes. Lola also loved to cook and cinnamon rolls were her specialty.

Her brother: Arnold "Buck" Markley of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Chris Clodfelter, Stacia Shelton, Kelly Dixon Jeffrey and Dana Dixon Walker and;
Her great-grandchildren: Alicia Gofreddi, Taylor, Tara and Alyssa Clodfelter and Derek Walker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Leslie Dixon; her brother, Wayne Markley; and her sisters, Carmel Miller and Verda "Billie" Parter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Lola's name for Midland Hospice House in Topeka. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
