Lois F. Richardson, 72, of Dexter, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, August 6, 2016 at her home.
Born August 3, 1944 in Woodward, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of H.B. and Alice (Lucas) Krout. She was raised and received her education in Glencoe, Oklahoma.
Lois was united in marriage to Jake Richardson on December 8, 1960 in Maramec, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Maramec. In 1964, they moved to Ralston, Oklahoma where Lois began working as an Inspector at Munsingwear. In 1977, the family moved to Dexter, Kansas where Lois began her own daycare service.
While in Oklahoma, she was a member of Ralston Baptist Church. She later attended Maple City Community Church and Tisdale United Methodist Church and eventually became a member of Dexter Christian Church. She always served faithfully in the church, teaching Sunday School, organizing Vacation Bible School, serving in the kitchen and organizing a Christian book store. She loved to sew, sewing many dresses for weddings and formals. She also did alterations for many in the community. She loved being outside, gardening and manicuring the lawn. She was especially active in supporting her children and grandchildren in sports and other activities.

Her daughters: Annetta McKain and husband, Don of Wichita; Toni Storm and husband, Greg of El Dorado;
Her son: Bryan Richardson and wife, Noel of Winfield;
Her brothers: Willis Krout and wife, Juanita of Billings, OK; Harold Krout and wife, Linda of Ponca City, OK; Dale Krout and wife, Carol of Glencoe, OK;
Her grandchildren: Trevor Richardson, Paige Richardson, Jenna Richardson, Gage Storm, Lynnli Storm, Tollen Storm; and
Numerous other children in her care that she loved as her own.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lynn Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Lois' name for Brian Kuntz Shop Class at Dexter High School. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
