Obituary

Lois Cranston Reeves, 100, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away Thursday evening, November 24, 2022.

Born January 6, 1922, in Queen City, Texas, she was the daughter of Lloyd M. and Stella (Lindsey) Orr. She was raised and received her education near Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from high school in Atlanta, Texas.

Lois was united in marriage to Ray V. Cranston on June 22, 1941. The couple made their first home in Wichita where Lois worked at Cessna Aircraft Company. Ray and Lois moved to Winfield in 1953. Lois continued to work at Cessna and later at William Newton Hospital. She finished her working career at Binney & Smith Crayola Factory, retiring in 1987 as a Laboratory Quality Control Technician. Mr. Cranston preceded her in death on March 12, 1984. Lois married Floyd Reeves on January 20, 1990. Floyd preceded her in death on May 8, 1993.

Lois was an active member of the Central Baptist Church. Her church family was very special to her. Also special to her was volunteering as a Pink Lady in the hospital auxiliary. She volunteered over 7500 hours and often ran the snack bar. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and reading.

Her family includes her son, Stephen D. Cranston, MD (Sharon) of Henderson, NV, and her daughter Sonia R. Goetz of Plymouth, MN. Stepchildren are Larry Reeves (Janice) of Dexter, KS. and Norman Reeves (Diana) of Dexter, KS. Her grandchildren are Karen R. Cranston-Barney (Kevin) of Henderson, NV; Sarah A. Cranston of London, England, Robert J. Goetz (Kristen) of Minneapolis, MN; and Emily Goetz of Minneapolis, MN. Lois is also survived by five great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in Lois' name for the William Newton Hospital Auxiliary. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 9, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at Tisdale Cemetery.
