Lois J. Miller, 95, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, November 6, 2016 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Born March 1, 1921 in Stafford County, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ira and Maude (Levens) Thomas. She was raised and received her education in Turon, Kansas graduating from Turon High School in 1939. She then attended nursing school in Pratt, Kansas, completing her nurse's training in 1942.
Lois was united in marriage to Lyle Miller in Wichita, Kansas on March 30, 1944. The couple made their first home in Wichita where Lois began working as a nurse. They later moved to Winfield, Kansas in 1945. Lois continued her career as a nurse at William Newton Hospital where she remained for many years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on January 31, 1982.
She was a member of Tisdale United Methodist Church and the William Newton Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed needle work, reading, working crossword puzzles and listening to country music.

Her 3 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Moore, her brother, Alan Thomas and a daughter-in-law, Nadyne Miller.
Graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Tisdale Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Memorials have been established in Lois' name for Tisdale United Methodist Church and for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
