Lois Ann (Denton) Cromley, 72, of Winfield, passed away April 29, 2009, at St Francis Medical Center in Wichita, surrounded by many loved ones and family members
Born on January 18, 1937, in Joplin, Missouri, she was the daughter of Jesse and Thelma (Darnell) Denton. She spent most of her childhood in Augusta, Kansas and graduated from Augusta High School.
She was united in marriage on November 7, 1981 to Charles Cromley and the couple made their home in Winfield. She was employed at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center as a nurses aide and medical aide from 1978 until 1998.
Lois was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. She enjoyed and loved her many family members and friends. She was a very forgiving and accepting soul who refused to find flaws in others. She found pleasure in life's simple things like cooking big meals for family gatherings and hugging her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Riley, KS; Melanie Martin and husband Ryan and Christopher Tong of Wichita, KS; Nicholas Tong of Winfield, KS; Jennifer Daugherty and husband Charles of Kingman, KS; and Justin Tong and wife Heather of Arkansas City, KS;
A host great-grandchildren; and
Her brother: Duane Denton of Hutchinson, KS:
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. We will carry her in our hearts forever and cherish her memories. Thank you mother, you brightened our world.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Union-Graham Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, May 1, 2009. The family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Cromley's name for the First Christian Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
