Lois F. Collier, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Born May 16, 1932 in rural Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Glen and Jennetta (Hoefgen) Groom. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1949.

She married Raymond Chattam on February 10, 1950. To this union, five children were born. The couple later divorced. Lois was united in marriage to Joel Collier November 24, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in Winfield where they owned and operated Collier's Service. They retired in 1994 and enjoyed traveling the country in their RV. Joel preceded her in death in March 1996. Lois was a member of the Elk's Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Her children: Jeff Chattam of Burden; Kimberly Chattam of Winfield; Brenda Randall of Winfield;
Her sister: Darlene Jordan of Raymore, MO; and
Her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joel, Lois was preceded in death by sons, Roger Lee "George" Chattam and James Howard "Jim" Chattam, a granddaughter, Lindsay Beth Green and two great granddaughters, Trinity Faith and Brylee Shianne.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Wilmot Cemetery north of Winfield, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Lois' name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
