Obituary

Lloyd William Morris, 82, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, May 1, 2018 at William Newton Hospital.

Born July 7, 1935 in Oxford, Kansas, he was the son of Williams Simms and Masie Edna (Combs) Morris. He was raised and received his education in Oxford. While in school, he enjoyed playing basketball. After school, he went to work for Carson's Farm.

Lloyd was united in marriage to Norma Fay Johnson on August 8, 1954 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Lloyd worked in the aircraft industry for Beech and Boeing. While working for Boeing, he travelled to Washington, South Dakota and New York. He later went to work for Strother Thermal Flood until its' closing when he began his career at Southwestern College. Lloyd began in security at Southwestern before transferring to the maintenance department, where he remained until retiring in 2008. Norma preceded him in death on January 13, 2013.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Winfield. He enjoyed camping, fishing, trips to Branson and taking his family out on his boat, "The Party Barge". He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes: his son, Norman Morris of Oxford; daughters, Debbie Lamb and husband, Michael of Branson, MO, Janet Bogle of Winfield, Donna Banta and husband, Robert B. of Arkansas City; grandchildren, Becky, Jeremy, Kelli, Tracy, Steven, Shane, Natasha, Tyson, Cameron, Joshua, Isaac, Sarah, Brandon, Colton, Damien, Lulu, Alexis, Angel, Nicole, Christopher, Christina, Kathleen; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lloyd was preceded in death by sons, Mark and David Morris, sons-in-law, Larry Bogle and Jerry Price and grandson, Xavier Hill.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4 to 8 P.M.

A memorial has been established in Lloyd's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
