LLOYD MORGAN, 90, of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, September 25, 2008 at his home.
Born on January 11, 1918 in Cheney, Kansas, he was the son of Marion and Florence Perdilla (Kennedy) Morgan. He attended Prairie View country school and farmed with the family as a young man.
He was united in marriage on June 1, 1941 to Lela Grace Wilson in rural Rock, Kansas. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Morgan proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in the Philippines. Following his honorable discharge, Lloyd returned home and the couple made their home in the Rock and Atlanta areas. He was employed at the Rock Grain Elevator and later farmed fulltime before beginning employment at Beech Aircraft in Wichita. Lloyd later worked for Stelbar Oil Company in Udall as a pumper. Mrs. Morgan preceded him in 2001.
He was a lifelong member of the Prairie View Methodist Church and had served on the Richland Township board for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his family, gardening and tinkering with his tractor.

His grandchildren: Lesa & Mark Kent, Tony Wilson, Bill & Melanie Wilson, Todd & Dana Morgan, and Tami & Kerry Parker;
His great-grandchildren: Derek, Mitzi, Elisha, Samantha, Candice, Jesse, Cassy, Amy, Jamie, Valerie, Jake, Luke, Morgan, Cameron and Ryan; and
His 7 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wylie and Robert "Bob"; and his granddaughter, Angie Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 29, 2008 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Military committal honors will follow at the Wilmot Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 28, 2008. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., that afternoon.
Memorials have been established in Lloyd's name for Hospice Care of Kansas and Prairie View Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
