The young couple moved to El Dorado and Lloyd taught and then began his administrative career. In 1958, he moved the family to Wichita and was an administrator at Linwood and Kelly Elementary, as well as Roosevelt, Hadley and Pleasant Valley Jr. High Schools. While working in Wichita, he obtained his Doctorate from Oklahoma University, attending classes on weekends. Retiring in 1988 from that career, he sold real estate and returned to teaching as a substitute in Wichita and Maize Districts until 2014.
