Linda R. Widener, 68, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away, Sunday evening, November 20, 2016 at her home in Winfield.

Born April 22, 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Ray and Frances (Dick) Rogers. She was raised and received her education in Albuquerque, graduating from Del Norte High School in 1966. After school Linda married Gerald Aday. To this union 3 sons were born. The couple later divorced.

In 1990 Linda moved to Wichita, Kansas and began working for Sunnyside Nursery. She was united in marriage to Frank Widener on May 25, 1996 in Goddard, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Linda went to work for Rowlands Nursery. In 2000 the couple moved to Sandia Park, New Mexico. They remained in New Mexico until Linda retired in 2013. After her retirement the couple moved to Wichita, Kansas where they remained until moving to Winfield, Kansas in 2016. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and raising dogs.

Her brothers: Dwight Rogers and wife Annie of Elephant Butte, NM; Gary Rogers and wife Tess of Albuquerque, NM; and
Her granddaughters: Emma Aday; Lilly Aday; and Allyssa Aday.

In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Aday.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Linda's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
