Linda Christine (Elam) Platz, 54, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 in San Antonio.
Born May 5, 1964 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Abe and Alice Elam. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, attending Country View Elementary and graduating from Winfield High School. She then attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
Linda was united in marriage to Russell Platz on October 3, 1987. Being a military family, they moved several times, living in Las Vegas, Whiteman AFB, Germany and San Antonio.
Linda enjoyed attending NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway and using her extensive collection aromatherapy oils. She especially loved spending time with her family, friends and dog Winston.
Her family includes her husband Russell Platz of San Antonio; her daughters Katelyn and Allyson Platz of San Antonio; her father Abe Elam of Winfield; her mother Alice Elam of Las Vegas, NV; her sister Kathy Burns and husband, Doug of Burden; her brother Michael Elam of Las Vegas, NV; her niece Jessica Sloan and husband Shane of Winfield; and nephew Jacob Miller of Winfield.
Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chester and Leona Elam and Eugene and Jennie Newton, a brother Mark Elam, brother-in-law, Mark Miller, and great niece, Harper Sloan.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 A.M. at Tisdale United Methodist Church east of Winfield. Private inurnment will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of local arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Linda's name for Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
