LINDA CAROL BOLANDER, 62, of Winfield, passed away at her home, Thursday
night, July 23, 2009.
Born on September 15, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of James and
Clara (Evans) Baucom. She was raised and received her education in Winfield. She
graduated from Winfield High School in 1964.
She was united in marriage on September 4, 1971 to Roger D. Bolander in Winfield
where the couple made their home. Linda was employed at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita in
the sheet metal department. She later worked for Boeing Aircraft and retired in 2002 as a
supervisor.
Linda was a member of the Tisdale United Methodist Church. She loved spending time
with her granddaughters, sewing, quilting, raising flowers in her greenhouse and her pug
dogs.

Her sons: Jeremy Bolander and wife Kelley of Sugarland, TX; and Bobby Bolander and
wife Julie of Kingwood, TX;
Her brother: John Baucom and wife Ileta of Arkansas City, KS;
Her granddaughters: Brooke Bolander, Brittany Samms and Amber Samms;
Her nephews: Perry Bolander and wife Angela, Micheal Baucom and wife Kristin, and
Lee Roy Bolander; and
Her nieces: Amy Mosley, Heather Irving and husband John, Stacey Daniels and husband
Josh, and Becky McMinn and husband Mardi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, James Samms.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral
Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral
home on Monday evening from 5 to 9. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that
evening.
A memorial has been established in Linda's name for the Hope Group/Victory in the
Valley. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
