Obituary

LeRoy Wayne Hovious, 83, originally from Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 29, 2024. LeRoy (Lee) was born on January 12, 1941, in Hutchinson, KS. Lee retired as a tool designer from J I Case in 2002. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam war.
Lee was known for his love of all things outdoors; his favorites being hunting and fishing. His kindness and willingness to help anyone who needed it made him a friend to all that knew him. Lee was lucky enough to have spent the last 20+ summers in Alaska. He loved it so much, he made sure that each of his kids experienced it too. Lee was a master when it came to fixing things. If he couldn't fix it, he would design and build the parts to make whatever whole again.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donna and Charles Goodson, Paul Hovious, sister, Jean White, and brother, Russell Goodson.
LeRoy is survived by his son, Greg Hovious, daughters, Debbie Whiley-Peters (Don), Pam Jordan (Troy); grandchildren, Amber Hovious, Megan Whiley-Reilly (Josh), Morgan Hovious, Chase Jordan, four great-grandchildren, brother Charles Goodson and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial will be held by his children at a later date.
A special thanks to the caregivers of the Kansas Veterans Home, Winfield. We couldn't have asked for better care during his final months.
