Leonard C. Stewart, 80, of Oxford, Kansas, formerly of Udall, passed away Friday morning, January 15, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
Born March 16, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas he was the son of Orie Clark and Amanda Ola (Hodgson) Stewart. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1955. After school he spent 8 years in the National Guard.
He was united in marriage to Donna Smith on May 20, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. The couple made their home on the family farm south of Udall where they farmed for over 45 years. Leonard also worked for a time in the oil fields and in construction. In addition to adding bedrooms and bathrooms on to their own home, Leonard helped build two of the neighbors' houses. He retired from farming in 2007 and moved to Oxford. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his cattle and hogs.

His daughters: Janelle Venn and husband, Jerry of Amarillo, TX; Sandra Nichols and husband, Bart of Longton;
His sister: Eva Marie Lewis of Sunset, TX; and
His 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Leonard's name for FFA. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
