Obituary

LEO J. SEIWERT,90, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, April 2, 2013 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

Born on November 18, 1922 in St. Marks, Kansas, he was the son of Edward and Mary (Betzen) Seiwert. He attended Cathedral High School in Wichita, Kansas and later Creighton Univeristy before enlisting in the United States Air Force.

Leo proudly served his country during World War II as an aviator training pilots. Following his discharge he lived in Alaska and worked as a commercial fisherman. He later worked for Boeing Aircraft in Washington and Wichita.

He was united in marriage to Rita Jacob in 1960 and they made their home in Wichita. The couple later divorced. Leo enjoyed fishing, gardening and the stock market.

His family includes:
His children: Douglass, Darren and Chareese;
His brother: Clem Seiwert of Goddard, KS;
His sisters: Margaret Gegen of Colwich, KS; and Regina Klausmeyer of Wichita, KS; and
Extended family including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis and Edward Seiwert.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
