Lee Olen Seaman, 83, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Friday evening, September 18, 2009 at the Kansas Veterans' Home in Winfield.
Born August 21, 1926, four miles north of Udall in Maple Township, he was the son of William "Bill" Alonzo and Carol Elvina (Rusher) Seaman. He was raised and received his education in the Udall area graduating from Udall High School.
Upon graduating from high school Lee enlisted in the United States Navy on September 7, 1944, and proudly served his country in World War II. He served on the USS Gatling DD 671 destroyer during the war, and was honorably discharged on June 12, 1946, as Seaman First Class.
Lee was united in marriage to Barbara Diana Ferguson on February 14, 1946 at her parents home in Ninnescah Township. In 1948 the couple moved to Borger, Texas where they ran a business until 1956. In 1958 they returned to the Udall area where in 1961 they built the home that they continued to share to this day. In 1960 Lee began representing Business Men's Assurance Company of Kansas City, Missouri, where he remained until retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Udall United Methodist Church, the VFW and the Udall Historical Society. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling in the family RV.

His daughter: Diana Klein and husband, Lloyd of Udall;
His sister: Betty Jo Thompson and husband, G.K. of Udall;
His 7 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Lee was preceded in death by a sister Blanche Holmes, his brother George Seaman, and a granddaughter Kamela Lynn Seaman.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Udall United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday September 22, from 5 to 9 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8.
Memorials have been established in Lee's name for the Udall United Methodist Church and The Udall Historical Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
