LAWRENCE R. DAGGETT, 93, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at River Region Medical Center.
Born November 23, 1918 in Wilmot, Kansas, he was the son of Ralph and Opel Daggett. He lived in the Winfield area for most of his life until after his retirement. Lawrence worked for Southwestern Bell for 35 years.
He was a life member of the VFW, Telephone Pioneers and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary in Independence, Kansas. He was a Navy Veteran attached to the Seabees, having served in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War. He moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi five years ago and became an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, as well a member of the Berean Sunday School Class.

His son: Larry Daggett and wife, Marilyn of Vicksburg, MS;
His daughter: LaNita Boyd and husband, Carl of Roswell, GA;
His five grandchildren: Travis Daggett, Heather Daggett-Potts, Chris Boyd, Michele Wichman and Kim Wojtal; and
His 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Daggett, his parents, Ralph and Opel Daggett and his brother, Merle Daggett.
Funeral Services will be held in Vicksburg, Mississipi on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Glenwood Chapel. Interment will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials have been established in Mr. Daggett's name for the Ronald McDonald House in Wichita, First Baptist Church Building Fund in Vicksburg or Independence, and to Mercy Hospital Scholarship Fund in Independence. Contributions may be made through Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
