Lawrence C. Biddle, 93, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2017 at Winfield Senior Living Community.

Born July 30, 1923 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Jesse Amos and Elsie Ethel (Ramsey) Biddle. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. Lawrence made a lifelong career as a farmer. He also worked as a delivery driver in the propane business, working for Rupp Propane and later Hittle Propane. He then went to work for Winfield Coop, where he remained until his retirement.

He was united in marriage to Carrie Middleton on January 12, 1997. He enjoyed farming and working cattle with his dog, Tootsie. He especially loved spending time with his step great granddaughter, Grace Jones.

His step-grandchildren: Johnathan Miller; Barbara Kirkpatrick; Aaron Kirkpatrick and wife, Andrea; Jessica Jones and husband, Heath;
His step-great grandchildren: Shawn Kirkpatrick, Kellen Kirkpatrick, Grace Jones;
His brother: Raymond Biddle and wife, Mary; Ralph Biddle and wife, Patricia;
His sister: Shirley Rush;
His sister-in-law: Iris Biddle; and
Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Biddle, three sisters, Lila Waldschmidt, Marjorie Biddle and Mabel Coon and a brother-in-law, John Rush.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery west of Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Lawrence's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
