Obituary

Lawrence Burnett "Larry" Bean, 83, of Elizabeth, Colorado, formerly of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, September 8, 2014, in Parker, Colorado.

Born October 25, 1930, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Irving Wilson and Julia Angeline (Clayton) Bean. He was raised in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1948. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. As a young man he enjoyed playing the accordion. Larry was a remarkable man that could repair anything from watches to cars.

Larry was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Dimit on September 7, 1952, at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Winfield and Larry began working for Stanley Aviation in Wichita. In 1961 they moved to Aurora, Colorado, and Larry went to work for Fram/Bendix Corporation. He remained with Fram until his retirement in 1986. Peggy preceded him in death on March 3, 2005.

His family includes:
Daughters Judy of Aurora, CO; Kelly and husband, Matt of Elizabeth, CO;
Son Mark and wife J'Nae of South Fork, CO;
Grandchildren Ian & wife Kathy, Casey & wife Robin, Matthew, Tiffany, Zachary, Tyler, Morgan and Alden; and
Great granddaughter Makayla.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Miles Funeral Service is handling local arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established to purchase a park bench in his memory. Contributions may be made through the Miles Funeral Service.
