LARRY L. SCARTH, 74, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Saturday evening, February 20, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born April 4, 1935 in Canton, Oklahoma, Larry was the son of Joseph V. and Avis (Floyd) Scarth. He was raised and educated in Canton until his junior high years, when the family moved to Winfield, Kansas. Larry graduated from Winfield High School.
He was united in marriage to Betty Sutton on May 19, 1957 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Mr. Scarth worked at Gambles Hardware Store and later worked in the Aircraft industry. He worked for Beech Aircraft for twenty years in military operations, before moving to Cessna and later Boeing. He worked as a parts expeditor at Boeing and retired in 1993. Larry went back to work at Raytheon as a planner and retired again in 1998.
Mr. Scarth was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Winfield. He was an avid OU fan and a golfer. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and tennis. He was State Doubles Tennis Champion in 1952 and 1953, Arkansas City JUCO Tennis Champion in 1954 and 1955, and KCAC Doubles and Singles Tennis Champion at Southwestern College in 1963.

His brother: Frank Scarth of Winfield;
His sister: Treva Renkie of Clinton, Oklahoma;
His grandchildren: Tyson, Erika, Tristan, Brandi, Amanda, Marisa and Haley; and
His great-grandson: Kaelin Scarth.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Scarth, his sister, Joan Sigman, and his infant twin sisters, Jacoline Joyce and Gertrude Arleen Scarth.
Cremation has been effected. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Assembly of God Church. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Scarth's name for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
