Larry Reeves, 81, of Parkerfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, August 14, 2026, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

Born February 12, 1945, in Anthony, Kansas, he was the son of Merlin “Slim” and Marie (Pederson) Reeves. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating Winfield High School in 1963. He then attended Pittsburg State University where he received his Certificate as an Automotive Mechanic.

He was united in marriage to Carol Lewis on June 7, 1964, in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Baxter Springs where Larry worked for the Ford dealership. They later moved to Wichita where he was a mechanic for Paul Burnett Buick. In 1973, the couple returned to Winfield and Larry went into business with his father and brothers at Reeves & Sons Auto Service. He remained with the family business until his retirement in 2007. Even after his retirement, he enjoyed working on vehicles for his friends and others. Carol preceded him in death on June 21, 2007.

In addition to working on cars, Larry enjoyed drag racing. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He is survived by his son Mitchell Reeves and wife, Jackie of Louisville, KY; his daughter Gianna Carrillo and husband, Agustin of Parkerfield; his brothers, Steve Reeves and wife, Jane of Winfield; Neil Reeves and wife, Kathy of Winfield; and his grandchildren, Emily Wright and husband, Andrew of Louisville, KY; Robert Reeves of Louisville, KY; Elias Carrillo of Parkerfield; and Jasia Carrillo of Parkerfield.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Winfield. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery.
