Larry L. Calvin, Sr., 76, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Monday afternoon, October 24, 2022, at William Newton Hospital.

Born February 14, 1946, in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Ralph and Mabel (Lively) Calvin. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1964.

He married Cynthia John in February 1965. To this union, two children were born, Larry Calvin, Jr., and Lynn Calvin. The couple made their home in Winfield and later divorced. Larry worked for the Winfield Courier and later at Strother Field, before becoming an insurance agent at Farmers Insurance. In 1981, he moved to Caldwell, Idaho where he sold cars until moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1989. In 1990, he returned to Winfield, where he began working in the plastics industry for KSQ Blow Molding.

Larry met Jeanne Reynolds in 1990. The couple moved to Ossian, Indiana in 1997 where Larry worked for TI Plastics until moving to Mullinix Plastics where he remained until retiring in 2011. Larry and Jeanne were united in marriage on November 12, 2004, in Bluffton, Indiana. The couple moved to Udall, Kansas in 2015. Larry enjoyed woodworking, yard work, mowing, tinkering with things around the house, he could fix anything, and drinking beer with friends. He also enjoyed his cat George. He was very appreciative of Jeanne's devotion and dedicated care for him.

His family includes his wife Jeanne Calvin of Udall; his daughter Lynn Calvin of Caldwell, ID; his step-children, Tabitha Gardner of Mustang, OK; Benjamin Ashmore and wife, Leanne of Assaria; his sisters, Jeanette Firebaugh of Cambridge; Terri Gray of Haysville; his sister-in-law Janet Calvin of Winfield; his grandchildren, Jessica Calvin, Katlyn Calvin, Madeline Zimmerman, Noah Gardner, Samuel Gardner, Amara Turner, Emmalise Gardner; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Calvin, and a son Larry Calvin, Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 28, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
