Obituary

Larrie Brewer, 86, of Udall, Kansas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 16, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita.

Born August 4, 1935, in Wichita, Kansas, Larrie was the son of Oscar R. and Mildred (Parsons) Brewer. At the age of seven, the family moved to the family farm near Udall. Larrie attended a little country school a mile from his home until it closed and then he went to Rock. He also attended two years at Burden and graduated from Winfield High School in 1953. It was at Winfield High School that he met his highschool sweetheart, Patricia Johnson. The couple married on July 31, 1955, in Winfield. They spent most of their life on the family farm except for 20 years in Belle Plaine.

Larrie worked at various car dealerships and JC Penny's before retiring. He then farmed and sold new and used farm equipment and small tractors for ten years, until he was diagnosed with NHL cancer in 2005. Larrie stayed on the farm and after recovery, continued to do maintenance on the farm.

He loved the country life, animals, hunting, cars, and tractors, of which he had numerous different ones. He and his son, Craig, rebuilt and restored many old Case tractors and often took them to the antique tractor show. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Belle Plaine. When he was younger, he enjoyed raising lambs and chickens. He especially loved his family, his church, and his dog Boogie. He and Pat loved taking road trips.

His family includes his wife Pat Brewer of Udall; his son Craig Alan Brewer and wife, Diana of Belle Plaine; his grandsons, Daniel and Joseph Brewer; and his best little K9 buddy Boogie.

In addition to his parents, Larrie was preceded in death by a brother Jack and a baby brother Jerry.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 25, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Belle Plaine under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
