Laef Garrett Shelton, 42, of Winfield, formerly of Utah, passed away Easter morning, April 20, 2025.

Born June 11, 1982, in Brigham City, Utah, he was the son of Jim Leon Shelton and DeLois (Lott) Larsen.  He was raised and received his education in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Laef worked as a finish carpenter as well as in masonry and painting in Salt Lake City and for Skyline in Arkansas City.  He enjoyed free style artwork and creating free-form furniture while incorporating his artwork in that furniture.

His family includes his mother DeLois and husband, Steve Larsen of Garden City, UT; his father Jim Shelton formerly of Winfield and wife, Denise of Montpelier, ID; his sister Maratha Shelton and husband, Danny Thomas of Syracuse, UT; his brothers, Caleb Shelton of Reno, NV; Reese Shelton of Montpelier, ID; Jason Ira Shelton of Renton, WA; Cole J Shelton of Oroville, CA; and many nieces and nephews who he loved with all his heart.

Laef was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Alice Shelton and Adelbert and LaDene Lott.

Cremation has been effected under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  The family will hold services in Utah at a later date.
