Kongsy Phouthavong, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday night, September 17, 2018 at her home.

Born June 20, 1944 in Mouanghim, Laos, she was the daughter of Kamhoung and Hong Kingsada. She graduated high school in Laos. Kongsy was united in marriage to Mayphonh Phouthavong in December 1958 in Mouanghim, Laos. The family immigrated to Winfield in April 1980. Mayphonh preceded her in death on December 4, 1999. Kongsy worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home and most recently worked as a machine operator at Rubbermaid.

Her family includes her sons, Chris Phouthavong of Winfield; Vinnie Phouthavong of Winfield, Khoroth Phouthavong of Winfield, Vingprasith Phouthavong of Arkansas City; daughters, Mitmaly Klema of Kansas City; and Sisavanh Houghton of Tennessee; two brothers, Boun Kingsada and Vongpradith Kingsada of Laos; and 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kongsy was preceded in death by a son, Khamkoth Phouthavong, two brothers, Khampheay Kingsada and Sisavath Kingsada, and a sister, Manh Kingsada.

Services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in Kongsy's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
