Kiyon Koroma, 31, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born on April 28, 1977 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Essa and Terry (Hopkins) Koroma. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1995. He then attended Kansas City Community College on a soccer scholarship. Kiyon joined the United States Marine Corp in 1997 and proudly served his country in both Hawaii and Japan. In 2001 he returned to Kansas where he attended Kansas State University, later transferring to Southwestern College in Winfield.
He enjoyed working out and coaching youth in both soccer and wrestling.

His mother: Terry Koroma of Winfield;
His sister: Tekeisha Kilpatrick and husband, Shane of Fort Riley;
His daughter: Kaitlin Koroma; and
His grandparents: Richard and Erma Hopkins of Winfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday January 9, 2009 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established in Kiyon's name for the Winfield Wrestling Club. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
