Obituary

Kieran Brian Jarvis, 46, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away of natural causes June 16, 2021 at his home.

Kieran was born July 29, 1974 in New York City to Mary Helen (Briscoe) and Brian Duncan McCullough. His family moved to Houston, Texas until 1978, when they moved to Winfield. After moving to Winfield, Mary re-married and Kieran was adopted by his father Phil Jarvis. Kieran attended Winfield schools and later Southwestern College, where he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education/History.

He worked various jobs including at Cowley College, Southwestern College, S&Y Industry, and in food service. Kieran and Heather Madrigal had a daughter, Sierra. He and Sierra loved going to the movies, especially Star Wars and super hero movies. Kieran was also a music lover and enjoyed history, politics, and philosophy. He was an avid sports fan, especially KU basketball and the New York Yankees.

His family includes his daughter Sierra Jarvis of Andover; his parents, Phil and Mary Jarvis of Winfield; his brothers, Jeff Jarvis and wife, Thursa of Wichita; David Jarvis and wife, Elizabeth of Longmont, CO; Brendan Jarvis of Bixby, OK; his birth father Brian McCullough of Wichita; his half brother Patrick McCullough of Winfield; his half sister Elizabeth McCullough-Wade of Wichita; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families; and his beloved cat companion Alex.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Kieran's name for the Winfield Community Food Pantry. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
