Obituary

Kevin Lee Davis, 54, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017.

He was born October 26, 1963 in California.  He was the son of Doyle and Marilyn (Horton) Roberson.  He was raised and received his education in Udall graduating from Udall High School in 1982.  He furthered his education at Southwestern College obtaining a degree in teaching.  During college, Kevin worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken as well as the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  He continued to work for the State Hospital until it's closing.

He married Christina Lauffer in 1986.  To this union, two sons were born, Shane and Tyler.  The couple later divorced.  Kevin worked at Southwind ResCare for over 19 years as a house manager.  He then went to work for the Winfield Correctional Facility as a guard.

He enjoyed taking trips to Alaska as well as photography, especially the bears at Yellowstone National Park.  As a young man, he went on a lot of family camping trips.  He also enjoyed salmon fishing, golfing, taking float trips with the guys, glow ball tournaments, watching the Baltimore Orioles, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Michael Jordan fan.  Kevin was a man of the world and took care of and was loved by many people.

His family includes:
His sons:  Shane Davis and wife, Courtney of Winfield; Tyler Davis and fiancé, Alyssa Pedersen of Burden;
His brother:  Michael Davis and wife, Darla of Mulkeytown, IL;
His grandchildren:  Addy and Annisten Davis and Parker Leabo;
His nephew:  Kevin Michael Davis of Mulkeytown, IL;
His aunts:  Barbara Heyman of Winfield; Connie Humfeld and husband, Jack of Abilene, TX;
His cousins:  Chris, Jim and Michaela Huffman, Bryce and Jacob Huff; and
His best friend:  Dusty Kilts of Winfield.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by a sister, Wendy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at Udall Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.  The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Kevin's name for the Alaska Conservation Foundation.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
