Obituary

KENNETH FRANCIS SCHULER, 63, of Winfield, Kansas passed away at his home Monday, August 26, 2013.

Born August 27, 1949 in Ransom, Kansas, he was the son of Lawrence Joseph and Erma (Dechant) Schuler. He was raised and received his education at Sacred Heart School in Ness City and graduated Ness City High School in 1967. Ken studied at Kansas State University and later at Wichita State University. He was inducted in the United States Air Force ON December 30, 1968. He was stationed in Germany for a couple years and was honorably discharged on July 25, 1972.

Ken worked at Boeing and Spirit Aerosystems in the maintenance departments. He lived in South Central Kansas, including Udall for seven or eight years and moved to Winfield just a couple years ago.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. He was generous in supporting specific missionaries and was a loyal friend to many. He was always interested in electronics and how things work. He enjoyed traveling, photography, history and a depth of knowledge in many areas.

His family includes:
His brother: Gary Schuler and wife, Mary of Marion, Kansas;
His sisters: Jeanne Houser and husband, Gordon of Newton, Kansas; and Judy DeFord and husband, Bob of Omaha, NE; and
His nieces and nephews: Matthew and Timothy Schuler; Ethan and Abri Houser; Caroline Houghtelling and Jeanette and Randall DeFord.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Erma Schuler and his infant brother, Danny Lee Schuler.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday evening from 5 to 7. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A Memorial has been established in Ken's name for Grace United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
