KENNETH D. GARD, 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, February 16, 2011 at his home.
Born on November 21, 1946 in Independence, Kansas, he was the son of Harry and Esther (Lane) Gard. He was raised and received his education in Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1964.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Kimberly Westenfeld on August 18, 1979 in Winfield where the couple made their home.
He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad, Binney & Smith Crayola, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Calmar retiring in 2003. He enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren and his pets.

His daughters: Kimberly Ates of Augusta, KS; Dallas Gard and husband Michael Shannon of Winfield, KS; and Deana Gard of Wichita, KS;
His brother: Jim Gard of Grand Junction, CO;
His grandchildren: Adrianna, Fredrick and Chastity Ates, and Tyler Jazmyne and Maximus Shannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Gard; and his sisters, Carolyn Worell and Pat Ritchie.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 21, 2011 at Highland Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Kenneth's name for Rivercross Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
