KEITH DELMAR LEAKE, 81, of Winfield, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 30, 2008 at the Kansas Veteran's Home.
Born on February 26, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri, he was the son of Henry A. Leake, Sr. and Gladys Rowe. His family was in the oil industry, and moved from Illinois, Missouri and Oklahoma, before coming to Kansas, where Keith graduated high school.
He owned and operated the Big 4 Well Service. Keith entered the United States Navy on March 7, 1945. He was honorably discharged on July 23, 1946 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Donna Vaughn at the First Christian Church in Winfield on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1954. Mrs. Leake preceded him in death on December 26, 2008.
Mr. Leake was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. He was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge in Winfield. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and watching sports on television. He also liked to play softball until he broke his leg.

His brother: Henry Leake, Jr. of Winfield; and
His 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Keith was preceded in death by his son, Rick, his infant grandchildren, Tiffany and Aasron, his brothers, Charles and infant, Lloyd and his sister, Ruth.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Leake on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday, January 1, 2009, from 12:00 to 4:00 P.M.
Memorials have been established in Keith and Donna's name for the Winfield Food Pantry.
