Kathleen "Kathy" Weathers, 87, of Neosho, Missouri, previously of Winfield, Kansas, passed away December 16, 2018 at her home.

Born December 2, 1931 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Levan) Seley. She received her early education in Missouri before moving back to Winfield and attending Winfield schools.

Kathy was united in marriage to Charles F. Weathers on August 16, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri. The couple moved to Los Angeles in 1955 and lived for four years before returning to the Winfield area. Kathy was a homemaker until her children were teenagers. She then began her career as a cook for the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, where she later retired. Charles preceded her in death on February 24, 2006.

Kathy was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and reading.

Her family includes her sons Charles Weathers of Neosho, MO; Robin Weathers of Neosho, MO; her daughter Rowena Hosch and husband, Glen of Augusta; her grandchildren, Travis Weathers of Neosho, MO; Richard Hosch of Wichita; and her great grandson Samual.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin, Clifford, and Virgil and her sisters, Mary Jane McKibben and Norene Widener.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Kathy's name for the Cowley County Humane Society and for the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
