Katelyn Marie Green was born August 15, 1995, in Wichita, Kansas, to Jennifer Sloan Green and John Green-Myrick. She passed away at her home in Dexter on April 11, 2018.

Katelyn was the middle child, born between 2 brothers, Wesley and Logan. She attended Dexter and Winfield schools. As an adult, Katelyn was an accomplished artist, published in High Fructose art magazine and was curator and featured artist at the HUE Gallery of Contemporary Art in Wichita.

Katelyn had the sensitive temperament of a true artist, loving others and compassionate to those hurting or in need. She was also thoughtful and enthusiastic, with a bubbly personality.

Katelyn is survived by her parents Jennifer Moreland and husband Tony of Dexter and John Green-Myrick and wife Chris of Pueblo, Colorado, as well as step-father Steve Becker of Arkansas City; siblings Brian Green of Wichita, Wesley Green of Winfield, Logan Green of Wichita, Hope Becker of Okinawa, Japan, Austin Becker of Arkansas City, Ginger Green of Pueblo, Colorado, and Casey Herner of Winfield; grandparents Ron and Rhea Sloan of Dexter, Alan Myrick of Grove, OK; aunts Angela Glass of Talequah, OK, and Kim Hearndon of Rose Hill; cousin Adam Hearndon of Rose Hill.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents Pauline and Gilbert Gordon, Doris and Lynn Sloan, grandmother Ginger Green, and cousin Isaac Hearndon.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dexter Outreach Church. Inurnment will follow at Dexter Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday evening at the church from 5-8:00 p.m. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Katelyn's name for SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education) and for the National Eating Disorders Associations. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
