Karen McDade, 63, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Monday morning, January 18, 2021 at her home.

Born June 14, 1957 in Winfield, she was the daughter of James and Esther (Ortiz) McDade.  She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1975.

In 1999, Karen married Gregory Williams. The couple made their home in Winfield, and later divorced. Karen spent her life as a caregiver.  She compassionately served many families in the Winfield area during their time of most need.  She enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas, gardening, watching her son, Pariss play basketball and caring for her four dogs: Dottie, Gracie, Macie, and Sadie.  She was proud of receiving awards for her participation in the Christmas tours as well as having the yard of the month.

Her family includes her son Pariss McDade-Brown and wife, Madison of Winfield, and her sister Sandra K. McDade of Winfield.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Miles Funeral Service.  Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Karen's name for the Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
