Obituary

Karen S. Faber, 52, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2015 at her home.

Born September 14, 1962 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Boots) Morain. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield, High School in 1980. After school, Karen began working as a cashier for Walker Grocery Store in Winfield.

On October 14, 2000 Karen was united in marriage to Leon Faber in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Winfield. They couple traveled to numerous states including South Dakota, Wyoming and Oklahoma. Karen enjoyed working in restaurants as a cashier and cook. They returned to Winfield, where Karen began working for Wal-Mart as a door greeter and cashier.

She enjoyed playing bingo, needlepoint, camping, fishing, traveling and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs football team. She loved animals, especially cats.

Her family includes:
Her husband: Leon Faber of Winfield;
Her mother: Dorothy Morain of Winfield;
Her sister: Jo Ann Downing of Winfield; and
Two cousins in California.

In addition to her father, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Morain and brother-in-law, Bobby Downing.

The family will hold a memorial service at Central Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday August 5, 2015. Friends are welcome to attend.

Memorials have been established Karen's name for the Cowley County Humane Society and to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas.
