Justin Guy "J-Bone" Martin, 19, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2012 in Butler County.

Born on August 12, 1992 in Winfield, Kansas he was the son of Brett Martin and Kathy Small. He was raised and received his education in Cowley County, graduating from Central High School in Burden in 2010. He lettered in three sports while in high school as well as receiving all league honors in football, baseball, and basketball.

Justin was baptized a member of the Burden United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and working on race cars with friends and family.

His family includes:
His mother: Kathy Small of Wichita;
His father: Brett Martin of Haysville;
His brothers: Tyler Martin of Lawrence; Bryant Martin of Lawrence;
His maternal grandmother: Sandy Small of Pratt;
His paternal grandparents: Bert and Donna Martin of Dexter; and
Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Guy Small.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M., at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Burden. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 5 to 9 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A scholarship fund has been established in Justin's name. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
