June A. Wade, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield
Born April 24, 1923 in Cleveland, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Willis Allen and Blanche (Evans) Clapper. She was raised and received her education in Cleveland where she graduated high school. She then went on to receive her degree as a Registered Nurse. In 1941, she moved to Winfield, Kansas and began working at St. Mary's Hospital.
June was united in marriage to Loren Joe Wade on July 17, 1947 at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. June later worked at William Newton Hospital. She worked there several years and spent 13 years as a Surgical Supervisor. She also worked at several area nursing homes. She enjoyed camping, traveling, crocheting, bowling, fishing, and all sorts of flowers. She collected blue glass and knick-knacks. June and Loren went fishing in Minnesota every Labor Day for 25 years.

Her nephews: Billy Howard of Kansas City and Randy Howard of Denver, CO.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Eugene Clapper and sister, Eleanor Clapper Howard.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
