Obituary

June Rose Reeves, 101, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, September 25, 2016 at her home.

Born June 3, 1915 in Pittsfield, Illinois, she was the daughter of Joseph and Pearl Edna (Kendrick) Boots. She was raised and received her education in Pittsfield and later attended high school in Winfield, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Clarence L. Reeves in Newkirk, Oklahoma on March 16, 1935. The couple farmed in the Winfield and Burden area for over 31 years, until moving to Winfield in 1956. Mr. Reeves preceded her in death on December 18, 1982.

She was a member of the Methodist Church. June enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, collecting Indian artifacts, cooking and going to flea markets and the fair.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Danny Reeves of Winfield; Joe Reeves and wife, Loretta of Tulsa, OK; Tom Reeves and wife, Maurine of Derby;
Her daughter: Evelyn Burkhead and husband, Chuck of Havana, FL; and
Her 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great-great
grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband of 47 years, June was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery, northeast of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, September 29, 2016 from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials in June's name for Danny Reeves. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
