June A. Murray, 98, formerly of Winfield, passed away Saturday morning, November 29, 2008 at The Ambassador Nursing home in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Born June 8, 1910 in Winfield, Kansas she was the daughter of Edgar and Susie (Ramsey) Biddle. She was raised and received her education in Winfield graduating from Winfield High School in 1934.
She was united in marriage to Delbert "Dub" Murray, in 1937. The couple made their first home in Winfield. In 1947 the couple moved to Denver, Colorado. June worked for Boeing in Wichita during WWII, and later for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. She retired as Cafeteria manager at Lowery Air Force Base and Fitzsimmons General Hospital. Mr. Murray preceded her in death in January of 1953. After retiring, June moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to live near her family.
June was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and cooking for her family. One of her greatest joys were her granddaughters, Dana and Stacy.

Her granddaughters: Dana Jackson and husband, Clay of Lincoln, NE; Stacy Stauffer and husband, Jeff of Lincoln, NE;
Her step granddaughter: Christa Mittan and husband, Greg of Lincoln, NE;
Her step grandson: Ross Blackledge and wife, Mandy of Denton, NE; and
Two great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, June was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Murray, and her sister, Della Biddle.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4th, at 2:00 P.M., at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 3rd, the family will greet visitors from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. that evening. A private family interment will take place at a later time.
Memorial services will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska at a later date.
A memorial has been established in June's name for the First Evangelical Free Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
