June Johnson, 93, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Winfield, Kansas passed away Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014 at Reflections Living in Wichita.
Born January 22, 1921 in Grenola, Kansas, she was the daughter of Edward and Ora Ann (Logsdon) Hawkins. She was raised and received her education in Grenola graduating from Grenola High School.
June married Guy Eckert on October 15, 1937 in Howard, Kansas. Mr. Eckert preceded her in death on January 3, 1943.
On July 1, 1949 she was united in marriage to Keith Johnson in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. The couple made their home in Winfield, where June was a homemaker helping to raise the family's children. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on January 3, 1992. In October of 2012 June moved to Wichita to be near family.
She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and dancing.

Her 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and
Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, June was preceded in death by her son Jerry Eckert, 3 brothers, Tom Hawkins, Jack Hawkins and Howard Hawkins and 2 sisters, Norma Hullett and Deon Newland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in June's name for the Grenola Historical Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
