Obituary

June Belle (Brown) Frazier, 101, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 7, 2022, at Winfield Senior Living.

June was born on June 16, 1921, at Wellington, Kansas, the daughter of Harry W. and Beatrice (Icke) Brown. She was raised and educated in Arkansas City. She married Eugene Atkins in 1940, living first in Wichita and then moving to California. To this union were born three children: Eugene, Jr., Leon, and Rosalie. They later divorced. She married Charles Frazier in 1992.

She was previously a member of the Nazarene church in Winfield and currently of New Hope Fellowship. She worked for Sears for 15 years and then retired from working for the State of California in 1983. She loved to travel and had visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. She traveled west to Guam in 1969. She and Charles had a fifth wheel for four years, it being their home away from their home in Tucson, Arizona. Travels included north to Alaska, east across Canada, to Florida and into old Mexico. In addition to Tucson, in retirement she lived in Augusta, Kansas, and Winfield.

She loved to crochet lap robes for wheelchair patients and made over 150. Great joy was brought by her flowers and garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Frazier; son Eugene Atkins, Jr.; daughter Rosalie Volkenand; grandson Richard Bowman; brothers, Everett Brown, Harris Brown, and Loren Brown; sister, Florence Gillman, Lorene Thole, and Joan Purdue; son-in-law Charlie Volkenand; daughter-in-law Kathy Atkins; and her first husband Eugene Atkins.

June is survived by a son Leon Atkins of Tustin, California; daughter-in-law Edith Atkins of Ponca City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and her very dear friends, Dwight and Janice Carter of Augusta.

No services are scheduled at this time. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in June's name for New Hope Fellowship Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
